Through His Holy Koran, Allah asks humanity this penetrating question: "Can the knowledge of the blind person be equal to the knowledge of one who sees?" (6:48-50). Without authentic revelation, human beings remain blind to the full implication of the universe and of their own precious lives. The holy prophets of all nations are the ones who truly see. With minds and senses illuminated by Divine Light, they are free from the various self-centered and self-circumscribed attitudes in which we find ourselves obviously or subtly bound. These illuminated persons alone can plumb the full depth of human experience. However, Allah Most High has given every person the gift to see through prophetic eyes. With the help of revealed scriptures and spiritual disciplines, we can awaken directly into the luminous humanity, the fullness of humanity, which the prophets embody. Using these meditations on Koranic texts, let us open our eyes and discover what we can see:
